Fire damper drop testing, surveying and HVAC compliance mapping across Whiteknights, London Road and Greenlands campuses — delivered through term-time without academic disruption.
The University of Reading needed comprehensive fire damper compliance and a clear, accurate view of its HVAC infrastructure to ensure ongoing BS 9999 compliance — without any disruption to academic and business functions during full term-time occupation across three campuses.
Calmbreeze was selected for its proactive surveying approach. We extended the brief beyond simple testing and documentation, partnering with Locatrix to map the full HVAC infrastructure and identify both known and unknown fire dampers — establishing a baseline for the university’s long-term HVAC strategy.
We delivered the project in an Agile style, with real-time updates through Smartsheet dashboards and weekly reporting. Faulty dampers were repaired promptly and re-tested to verify compliance.
We delivered an accurate view of the university’s HVAC infrastructure and compliance status — reinforcing safety, supporting term-time operations, and giving the Facilities Management team a foundation for forward-looking strategy.
77 buildings surveyed · 560 fire dampers tested · 1,792 hours of service · 5-month delivery window.
